Medication Assistance & Certified Medication Technician (Med Tech) Pay Policy
F.A.A.R (Fresh As A Rose) is a non-medical home health care provider. As such, caregivers who are not properly certified are strictly prohibited from administering medications under any circumstances.
Only caregivers who hold a valid and current Medication Technician certification (or equivalent state-recognized credential) and have documentation on file with the company are authorized to assist with or administer medications, in accordance with Virginia state guidelines.
Compensation Structure for Med Tech Assignments:
- Caregivers assigned to cases requiring medication administration will be compensated at a rate of $30.00 per hour for those specific shifts.
- These assignments are designated as specialized care cases and are billed at a higher rate to the client.
Business Allocation:
- The standard client rate for medication administration cases is $60.00 per hour.
- This rate reflects both caregiver compensation and operational costs associated with maintaining compliance, insurance, scheduling, and administrative oversight.
Important Notes:
- Pay rates apply only to shifts requiring medication administration and where the caregiver is actively functioning in that certified role.
- Any caregiver performing medication-related tasks without proper certification will be subject to immediate termination.
- All certifications must be kept current and on file at all times.
F.A.A.R is committed to maintaining compliance, safety, and high-quality care for all clients.
By July 2026, F.A.A.R will have company automobiles that the caregivers can use if they are single mothers, have the experience as well as certifications or and licenses according to Virginia law and are willing to world but simply need transportation to do so.
You see, here at F.A.A.R, we believe it takes a village, and we can even help with child care. (privately) It really takes a village and as long as you are here for us, WE ARE ALWAYS HERE FOR YOU!!

POINT SYSTEM? NOT US!
At F.A.A.R, we do not operate on a point-based disciplinary system because we believe people are more than numbers. Our company is built on evaluating character, integrity, work ethic, and how each team member treats the individuals and families we serve.
We recognize that life is unpredictable, especially for those with offspring and loved ones, and we innerstand that circumstances can arise at any time.
Often times, we don't even know what will happen in the next three minutes when we have littles ones. As living men and women under God, we believe compassion and innerstanding should guide how we support one another, rather than rigid point penalties that fail to consider real-life situations.
As long as our team members demonstrate honesty, communicate responsibly, avoid repeated patterns of unreliability, complete documentation within 24 hours when delays occur due to patient care demands, and provide at least 12 hours notice when calling out so we have time to arrange coverage, they will always have a place at F.A.A.R.
We value people, not points, because we believe strong hearts and genuine dedication create the highest quality care. This is why we are the best at what we do and are the winning team!
